Uncle David visits CA

Uncle David came to the Bay Area this past weekend! We had a long weekend visit and Colin especially loved spending time with Uncle David. David came in Wednesday evening and Colin took right to him, wanted to play with him and read books. Even Aunt Jenni couldn't compare to him when she stopped by to pick up David later that evening.

We had a lot of fun activities planned for the long weekend. First, we visited the SF zoo. It was nice to visit the zoo during the week and in the morning when the crowds were small so Colin could run around fairly freely. The highlight of the zoo trip for Colin was the train. The train is a small functional steam engine which just runs a small loop twice around part of the zoo, and Colin loves it. He talks about it often and asks to go back 'when he wakes up from his nap'.

The next day we went to Huddart Park for a hike to show Uncle David the redwoods. We walked for about 4.5 miles and had a picnic along the way. The weather was perfect and both kids did pretty well.

The last afternoon of David's trip, he came to Burlingame to visit. Colin wasted no time in playing as much as he could with his uncle. Luckily, David was a good sport with his nephew's affections, reading books, playing with food, playing games, etc. (Never mind the state of the house in these photos.)

Overall, it was a really nice visit. We do love having visitors! Let me end with a few other sweet photos from this past week.
