Ok, so I've been busy (Vancouver, South Dakota, Moving), so I wrote this post awhile ago, but never got around to the photos. So here is the post, better late than never!

| Oh, the anticipation! |
When to start solid food for babies is somewhat up for debate, dependent on your doctor and the baby. Most doctors will say it is ok to start solids somewhere between 4 and 6 months. Our doctor said that since he has doubled his birth weight (by quite a bit) and sleeps through the night most nights that she is fine with us starting solids anytime after 4 months. So, I bought some cereal (rice and oatmeal, since our doctor still suggests to wait until 6 months for fruits and veggies). Starting last Tuesday (June 21), we tried to give him some rice cereal.

I'd be lying if I said that he loves it. Most times we can get one or two small spoonfuls in (or fully down his bib) before he starts to seal his lips closed and move his head away from the spoon. So not such a big fan quite yet. We'll keep trying once per day until he gets used to it!
Update (June 25): Actually just got done with a feeding now, and it is starting to go a bit better. Got several spoonfuls in his mouth at least. Still not sure how much he ate though.
New Update (July 7):
Colin is actually doing much much better with solids! Started to get the hang of it a couple of days after starting, and now it is hard to shovel the food in fast enough. He tried oatmeal for the first time last night. We'll have to post some pictures later, cause he was a mess!
Look at that huge smile! Me thinks he's all about that cereal...he just didn't realize it at first. Hope you guys are enjoying your new place! More space for Colin to fling food stuffs. :)
