November

In my quest to catch up on my posting, here is a post about our activities for the weekend of Nov. 19 and the Thanksgiving weekend. It is a little long (sorry!).

First was Hannah's wedding (bob's cousin). The wedding was down in Rochester, MN so Bob, David, Colin and I drove down Saturday morning for the afternoon wedding. We managed to make it in time for some lunch, a change of outfit, and to check into the hotel. The wedding itself was very beautiful. Hannah was a gorgeous bride! Our nephew was even brave enough to act as the ring bearer and walked all the way down the aisle accompanied by the flower girl. Colin contributed to the ceremony by singing, loudly. Didn't matter if it was a congregation hymn, just the organ, or a soloist. He wanted the church to know that he could sing with all of them :) After the ceremony, we received lots of compliments about his signing from people all around the church, so he could be heard by all. It was pretty funny.

After the wedding, we relaxed at the hotel until the reception. Of course, the weather decided to take that time to turn over to snow, so the ride to the reception was a little icy. (Apparently better in Rochester than Woodbury though - when we got back home, we had over an inch on the ground! First snow of the season!) The reception was lovely. Lots of family and fun. Colin did well until his bed time. I tried to carry him in his baby carrier and have him sleep to stay at the reception, but I think it was just too loud, so I headed back to the hotel around 8:30 pm so he could go to bed.
Fun at the reception
After we returned to Woodbury, it was time to prepare for Thanksgiving! My lovely sister flew in Wednesday around noon for the holiday. Kate and Colin were fast friends. We spent Thanksgiving Day over at the Kuczenski's. We played some football, watched the Packers game, and ate a wonderful meal.
Football fun!

The rest of the holiday weekend was spent visiting with my sister. We played lots of games, went to the Minnesota Zoo, visited the library, went to a movie, decorated for christmas, etc. We had a good time and it was sad to see her go! I think Kate may have been ready to leave though... it is hard to keep up with a 9 month old!

Found a christmas tree (got a Canaan tree this year!)
Cut down the tree and hauled it back
