15 Months Old!

We now have a 15 month old. Time flies! We go to the doctor in about a week and a half to get an update on how he is physically doing and get some more immunizations.

Colin has sure been a lot of fun lately. He is picking up new things everyday. He is trying to communicate more. He now regularly waves bye-bye to momma in the morning (often to daddy and to himself in the mirror as well), claps his hands together for 'more', and has been working on new sounds and inflections for speaking. He still only really has one vowel 'ah', but more and more consonants and pauses are appearing such as aa-aa-aa for sheep (baa-aa-aa) and ah-ah-ah for monkey (doesn't do the oo-oo-oo part yet).

Colin has also started identifying body parts that aren't his belly/belly button. He'll more than occasionally get nose, ears, eyes, mouth, head, and feet correct. He's also started copying a lot of what Bob and I do. For example, if he is in his bathroom with me, he will flush the toilet when asked, try to pump out shampoo and mime putting it in his hair, and asks for his towel at the end of a bath. He also is getting better at helping get himself dressed. He knows his socks go on his feet, and that you have to hold the sock and open the top, but hasn't quite mastered getting the opening and his foot together. He mostly just ends up laying the sock on the top of his foot - which of course he still thinks he is awesome for. He also likes to go find his shoes (even finds the matching shoe) and attempt to put them on.

Colin runs everywhere, and has added running and flopping/climbing on top of the furniture to his repertoire. We've also been doing more sensory/learning play. He is getting better with a crayon, though he still just prefers to treat it like a hammer sometimes. He loves opening and closing everything, including tupperware, old plastic containers (applesauce), pots and pans, toys, lids of any type. He also likes me to be near so that I can say the word associated with the action, "open", "close", etc. The other day we had bubbles out on the balcony and got some cute pictures of how excited he was about them.

Overall, we are so blessed to have a happy, healthy child! I can't wait to see what he learns next!
