10 days old!

We've reached double digits! I think it has become increasingly clear why Colin needed to be born. The child weighed 7 lbs 10 oz yesterday at our lactation consult when he was naked and screaming from hunger (after being fed he was more like 7 lbs 12-13 oz.). He just didn't have enough room to grow exponentially inside of me i guess, cause he is sure trying to break all the growth curves now :) News from the lactation consult itself was mixed. Colin and I are just going to have to muscle through breastfeeding, not much else to help with on that front. Good news is that i don't have to worry about him getting enough food, but bad news is I'm going to have to deal with some pain in the process. Of course, it is getting better. Things are starting to 'toughen up' as it were, so hopefully another week and things will be much better.

Here is your pic for the day. At one of our recent doctor's visits, we managed to forget a swaddling blanket in the diaper bag (parents of the year here), so bob sacrificed the shirt off his back to swaddle our son. Not sure there is anything sexier than this!

In other random ramblings, we had a good night of sleep last night. Colin managed to sleep in 4 hr blocks, which means that I got around 8 hrs of sleep from 9 to 9. Can't say that i feel very caught up on sleep, but it can't hurt right? We may even try to take the baby outside today. We are having a rare warm front pass through the area (for the next week!) and the high today should be above freezing. The Kuczenski's are going to try and skate around their backyard one last time before the snow melt from the warm temperatures manage to drain into the lake and ruin the ice. We'll see if we can bundle him up enough to take advantage of the warm weather!
